I recently stumbled upon the website Fyrinnae.com as I was looking for a new pigment company after the revelation of Bitch Slap Cosmetics (if you are not familiar with the problems that arose with their products check out my fellow guru Nikki20six’s
YouTube Video).
I have never been into bright pigments as I find that my 88 and 120 palette fits the bill for that just fine, but Fyrinnae offered something very unique as they offered these beautiful multi-dimensional shimmers. As I purused the website I found that they also offered generous samples for around $1.50 to $2.00 a piece, which was an excellent way to take a chance on a new company and not break the bank. I was also pleased with the companies shipping fees, as anything over $20.00 and anything under that amount is only $3.00 on U.S. orders and $3.50 international! There was a double edged sword with this company there was a disclaimer right on the home page that states due to a high demand that shipping times were anywhere from 18-20 days! Now this of course for a cosmetic junkie is a lifetime, but it also showed an immense curiosity and popularity with their company. I am pleased to say though that despite this fact I placed my order on July 21rst and my order arrived on July 30th!
Now as for the review let me start by saying these are not the type of pigments or shadows that are meant for sweeping on as you would a typical pigment or shadow, they are meant to be patted on as to preserve the color and shimmer quality as over blending can obscure that quality. Also with these pigments it is recommended that you purchase their Pixie epoxy which is not so much a primer as it is a “glue” to give the shimmers a foiled look. I found though that the quality was just as good using my primer and using the colors in a wet method still brought out the foiled shimmer/metallic look just as well. The Pixie Epoxy felt like a cross between Smashbox photo finish and a hair glue type product. I also want to add that the swatches are in no way comparable to the absolute shimmer and color quality of these products and I would highly recommend going to the site directly to view their swatches as they are done under proper lighting and give a true example of the colors.
As for the Lip Lustre this is not your typical gloss as it is more like a lip stain. I fell in love with their best seller “Candy Decadence” as it has this unique color shit where the base color is a lovely plum color and in some light it appears a blue/teal color, and in others a purple/pink hew. Well with all of this babbling let’s get to the swatches!
